Proverbs 30:5-9
Psalm 119
Luke 9:1-6
He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey…” Luke 9:3
Lord, you must be laughing when you see all the suitcases and stuff we absolutely must take with us when we go on a journey. It’s really kinda embarrassing to have to rely on so many material goods. In our journey with you, however, all we need is our faith in your provision for us. You created each of us for a unique purpose. When we follow the will of our Father we will have all we need to be what we were made to be. Lord, my weak faith holds me back from complete reliance on you. I don’t trust enough. I doubt my resources are sufficient for the task. Help my faith to grow so that I can boldly go forward. Your angel encouraged a young virgin who was facing a huge task with the words “Nothing is impossible for God”. Lord, when I truly believe that I can travel light and rely on you for everything. Amen.
