Proverbs 21;1-6, 10-13

Psalm 119

Luke 8:19-21

“My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it”.

Luke 8:21

Lord, by our baptism we have been adopted as children of our heavenly Father.  We are family.  We listen to what our Father says and carry out his words by the way we live.  We were made for Him and in His image can be recognized as his children by how we live.  By obeying His word, we carry on the heritage that belongs to this family.  Lord, you are our brother.  What an honor to share a place in this family with you.  You’ve shown us how to live in the family of God.  You call us to care for one another, especially the poor and hungry and lost.  You show us how to surrender to the will of our Father like Mary our Mother did.  Families stick together especially when times get tough.  Lord, with your example and help I can live out my role in your really big family.  I am humbled and proud to bear the family name.  Amen.
