March 10, 2026, Tuesday of the 3rd Week of Lent-A
Daniel 3:25, 34-43
Psalm 25
Matthew 18:21-35
“Do not let us be put to shame, but deal with us in your kindness and great mercy.” Daniel 3:42
“Should you not have had pity on your fellow servant, as I had pity on you?”
Matthew 18:33
Lord, today in your story you point out the obvious. You offer us unlimited, unconditional, undeserved mercy and forgiveness. Such kindness and love wipes away our debts and sins. And when we fall back into sin you forgive us again, and again and again. How on earth can this merciful gift not change our hearts? How can we not forgive our brothers and sisters as you have forgiven us? My sins cost you your life on the cross. My debt has been paid in full. What better way is there to live that forgiveness than to extend it to others whose debts to me are small compared to the one I owe you. Lord, show me this Lent who you want me to forgive. Show me how to extend to those who have hurt me the same pity and compassion I have received from you. Soften my heart to follow you in a trusting and humble spirit. Amen.
