Colossians 2:6-15
Psalm 145
Luke 6:12-19
As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him… Col. 2:6
He spent the night in prayer to God. Luke 6:12
Lord, Luke saw the need to include this point in his telling of how you chose the twelve Apostles. It’s important to note that you turned to your Father for wisdom and guidance before making this big decision. You didn’t rely solely on your human instinct. You didn’t choose the smartest, the most powerful, the wealthiest, even the holiest people on which to start building your kingdom. You chose them not by man’s standard but by God’s standards. You chose them not for what they were or had been, but by what, with the power of your Holy Spirit, they could be. Lord, I’ve made a lot of bad choices-great and small. Many no doubt, due to failure to pray first. Seeking your guidance and wisdom before making important decisions about anything is the right way. Remind me today, Lord, to ask you first for wisdom and guidance for anything I do. Amen.
