Colossians 1:21-23

Psalm 54

Luke 6:1-5

…persevere in the faith, firmly grounded, stable and not shifting from the hope of the gospel… Colossians 1:23

Lord, our world is a fast-paced place.  We are enticed with new fashion, the latest technology, entertainment and lifestyles.  Seems like nothing is constant anymore.  Paul encourages us to be anchored in faith.  He says we would do well to have our hopes and desires firmly planted in a foundation that is rock-solid.  Your death on the cross reconciled us for all time-that we can count on.  We need not look for any other salvation, source of joy or guiding light than you.  I can count on your love, mercy and grace.  Your word is a foundation that will remain forever.  Lord, no matter what glitters or grabs my attention today, I will stay faithful to you.  I’ll not seek other ways than yours.  May I truly rejoice today in being your loved and precious child, saved from death and led by you to my eternal home.  Amen.
