“For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24
Lord, life is one long series of choices. Choices like education, career, marriage, where to live, and how to use our money are big ones but there are countless small ones. All of our choices go a long way to determine how we turn out, how successful and happy we are in this life. Lord, today you present us with the biggest and most critical choice of all. You ask us to choose what to believe. You present to us the choice of life or death. Do we choose to believe in you as the Son of God and the Savior of all? Do we choose to go our own ways in the world or to surrender ourselves to you and follow you as your disciples? Many of us believe in our heads but you really want our hearts. You invite me to choose your ways each day. Today, Jesus, I give you all my sins and weaknesses. I look to you for the grace of forgiveness that flows from your cross. I chose you, my Lord. Amen.
