Psalm 7
John 7: 40-53
So, a division occurred in the crowd because of him. John 7:43
Lord, every four years we go to the polls to vote on who we believe is the right person to serve as our President. We will not all agree on one person as the results will show. For thousands of years the people you created, guided, and saved have not agreed on you either. You told Moses how stiff-necked the people were and later described the divisions that you would stir up. Even the people who saw you, heard your words and experienced your miracles could not let go of their ways and accept your ways. They didn’t like how you challenged them, encouraged them to repent or taught them to love their enemies. Many now don’t accept your standards of justice, the reality of your Eucharist or our need to turn away from the false gods we worship. Lord, please remove my hardness of heart and open my mind to your ways. Show me the path to you. Speak Lord you servant is listening. Amen.
