Lord, the words and examples of so many people have helped to form who I am today.  My parents, siblings, teachers and friends have all influenced me.  I thank you for the love and witness of everyone that has influenced my growth in the Spirit.  The seed of life in you was planted and has grown.  Sadly, at times I have followed and believed in lies that took me off the path to you.  But due to the foundation that I had from the beginning I came back to you.  Thank you, Lord, for the many ways you have formed me into who you created me to be.  I’m far from perfect and am still a work in progress.  But you have been very patient with me.  You continue to guide me and lead me to remain close to you.  May I be a witness to you and your love to my family and all the others you have placed in my life.  Protect me from doing or saying anything that could lead anyone away from you.  With your grace and your holy word, I can be your instrument for good.  Keep me faithful today Lord to all you have taught me from the beginning. St. Basil and St. Gregory pray for us.   Amen.
