I believe I shall see the bounty of the Lord… Ps 27:13
“If this activity is of human origin, it will destroy itself.” Acts 5:38
Lord, we live our lives with a lot of limitations. Everything built by man will one day rust, decay or be destroyed. There are just so many natural resources, so much food and energy available for our use. The Pharisees decided that your disciples would disperse and belief in you would fade if you were a mere human. Phillip said there wasn’t enough food to feed the thousands in the deserted place. But the bread you would give is of divine origin. Your words are eternal and will never fade or decay. You rose from the dead, never to die again. The Apostles weren’t fazed by the warnings and beatings by human hands. They knew their message was from God himself. The twelve baskets of leftovers were symbolic of the “bounty” you provide in the Eucharist at every Mass. Lord Jesus, there are no limits to your love, your grace and your blessings. May I be like the young boy who offered his lunch to you. Bless my small efforts and never let me worry about not having enough strength or grace to bear fruit for you. Amen
