Psalm 29

Mark 8:14-21

“Do you still not understand?”  Mark 8:21

Lord, today many will celebrate something that is a mystery, love. It’s a beautiful tradition to honor a fundamental human relationship that is so strong. Love between two people is maybe the best part of being human. Yet it can be so misunderstood and even abused. True love is a gift from you given to us because you are love. We were created out of love, for love. Lord, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to love and be loved. It really makes life worth living. I pray for my brothers and sisters who are lonely or in relationships that are not loving. May they keep faithful to you. Nothing can replace the love you have for me. Even when I fall away from your will for me your love is not diminished. Lord, may I love today like I am loved and cherished by you. Help me to see your love and care for me every day.  Happy St. Valentine’s Day my lover.  Amen.
