Hebrews 5:1-10

Psalm 110

Mark 2:18-22

New wine is poured into fresh wineskins.  Mark 2:22

Lord, you said the reason you came among us was to give us new life in abundance.  Everything about you is new. Maybe that’s why so many people in your time and even today don’t recognize or believe in you. You are beyond most of our expectations. You are more generous than we deserve. You are more forgiving, more merciful, more loving than we can believe. The life you offer is greater and more fantastic than anything we can experience now. Lord, help me to never sell you short or put limits on your power. Fill me with the new wine of your grace so that I can be your faithful and obedient disciple. May your consoling word lift me up when I am down. Make me able to let go of my old ways and be a fresh wineskin for you to fill. Fill me with your divine Eucharist at the Mass. I want to give myself completely to you as you gave yourself completely to me. Show me the new path you desire as I journey to the heavenly wedding banquet you have prepared for me.  Amen.
