Those whom the Lord has ransomed will return…crowned with everlasting joy. Isaiah 35:10
Lord, today we are at the half-way point in our Advent journey. Isaiah points out this is a joyful day. He is encouraging a people in exile from their homeland. Isaiah assures them to be watchful for their savior will soon ransom them from captivity and they will “see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God.” Lord, fill me with joy today. Give me reason to leap for joy as you lead me into your kingdom. Open my eyes to see your presence and power each and every day. Open my ears so I can hear your words of encouragement. Take away any fear or doubt from my heart that keeps me in captivity. Dear Jesus, you know how weak I am help me to believe in you more and more each day. I pray for the strength to finish my Advent walk with joy. I so look forward to how you will reveal your kingdom to me as I approach the manger of my King and Lord. I rejoice today and always because you are my Lord and my God. Amen.
