Isaiah 48:17-19

Psalm 1

Matthew 11:16-19

I, the Lord, your God, teach you what is for your good, and lead you on the way you should go.  Isaiah 48:17

Lord, good and effective teachers not only pass on knowledge but influence our lives for the better. They prepare us for what we will encounter in life. Their goal is to teach the truth that makes a difference in our lives. Lord, remove from me any stubbornness that rejects your word and substitutes my word. Your word can be difficult. So, to what voice will I listen to today? To where can I go to not just hear your word, O Lord, but be guided by it. I want to hear and heed your instruction because it is good for me. While I can be confused at times what is best for me you are never confused. Your word, Lord, is at the same time consoling and challenging. It is kind and gentle but also strong and firm. Lord, each day may I drink from the stream of your living word. May your eternal wisdom nourish my soul and lead me to yourself. May my faith and hope grow as I put your teaching into action. May you prepare me for whatever lies ahead when you come again. Come, Lord Jesus.  Amen.
