They that hope in the Lord, will renew their strength…  Isaiah 40:31

“Come to me all you who labor and are burdened…”  Matthew 12:28

Lord, we are invited to many events this time of year. Celebrations of parties, concerts, parades, and shopping can fill our calendars. We can become so busy this season of the year it can at time be a burden for us. Stress can build up in us as we try to fit more into our schedule than is really good for us. We can then forget or fail to appreciate the reason for all this activity. Jesus, you issue an invitation that should be first and foremost. You invite us to come to you with all our anxiety and burdens. You offer to take them from our shoulders and to give us peace and rest. Lord, you are the only place where I can escape the noise and distractions that weigh me down. A few moments of adoration of you in the Blessed Sacrament may be all I need. You are the quiet my soul, spirit and body so need. Lord, I happily RSVP and accept your generous offer of rest and refreshment. I look for a renewal of the strength that only you can give. I thank you for your kind invitation.  Amen
