Revelation 1:1-4; 2:1-5

Psalm 1

Luke 18:35-43

“…you have lost the love you had at first.”  Revelation 2:4

“Lord, please let me see.”  Luke 18:41

Lord, today you ask me “what do you want me to do for you?” One of our biggest tragedies is when the love we once had for someone dies. Today is a good day to assess how I’m doing in the love department.  This is an important question because you have told me that love is the most important commandment.  It is the basis for all doctrines and work for the kingdom. Love is the standard by which we all will be judged. It’s easy to slip into a mechanical pattern of life that overlooks how I am to care for others.  It’s easy to develop blind spots in everyday relationships. It’s also possible that I can be worn down by the constant demands for attention by those who are annoying or disagreeable. Dear Jesus, today show me a blind spot in how I’m loving. “Lord, please let me see.” Reveal to me someone in true need of a kind word, outreach or material support. After you show me where I’ve lost the will to love let your grace guide me to repentance and then to action. Come Lord Jesus and restore what’s been lost.  Amen.
