Philippians 4:10-19

Psalm 112

Luke 16:9-15

My God will fully supply whatever you need… Philippians 4:19

“No servant can serve two masters.”  Luke 16:13

Lord today is a good day to look at who and what I serve. Do I serve material things, or do I use them to serve you? You have truly blessed me in that I live well and really have no unmet needs. For the abundance you’ve placed in my care I truly thank you. To be honest, in some ways I have become dependent upon money and possessions for security. Your word today urges me to depend upon you for my security. To trust in you for my needs. Lord, because of your goodness to me I am not hungry or on the street. Help me to make my wealth available to those of my brothers and sisters who are. Make my material blessings a slave to me for good and not the other way around. May I cut back on luxuries and live more simply. Show me some practical ways I can share my goods with the poor around me. I will watch, today, Lord, for the opportunities you will place in my path to live trusting in you for my security and my freedom from mammon.  Amen.
