…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith… Ephesians 3:17
“From now on a household of five will be divided…” Luke 12:52
Lord, you warn us today that the truth of your good news will not always bring peace and harmony. Your Gospel message, if not embraced, can result in division even within a family. We’ve seen this throughout our society and within the family, the people closest to us. The message of the Gospel can be so at odds with the message of the world that conflicts arise that can disrupt the peace your word can bring. Lord may your word continue to transform us one person at a time. I invite you to dwell in my heart to grow my faith. Help me become on fire with love of you. But also help me to be patient and understanding with others who maybe aren’t ready to be on fire just yet. Show me how to begin to share your message of love with them by meeting them where they are. May they see in me an authentic and genuine faith and trust in you. Please heal the wounds of sin and division in our country. Lord, I pray today to be a sign of your mercy and compassion by living the good news in a divided world. Amen
