2 Timothy 4:10-17

Psalm 145

Luke 10:1-9

The Lord stood by me and gave me strength… 2 Timothy 4:17

“Peace to this household…the kingdom of God is at hand for you.”  Luke 10:5, 9

Lord, we have a saying that goes like this: “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” We’ve all been in difficult times and have sometimes felt like we were alone. The people around us have either stuck with us or bailed on us when the storms of life come. Loyalty and friendship are critical at those times.  You gave the 72 disciples and Paul a vital task: to live and spread the good news of salvation and the Father’s love and compassion. I have received that same task. It’s to be done daily, in big and small ways, in good and bad times, with or without the presence of friends to help. Lord, your presence, your power and your grace are more than enough to get me through any trial. You will never, ever abandon me in my service of your kingdom. How comforting, consoling and encouraging it is to know you are my strength and together we are an unbeatable team. Make me joyful and peaceful when I share your Good News.  St. Luke pray for me and all other evangelizers.  Amen.
