Ephesians 1:15-23

Psalm 8

Luke 12:8-12

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation… Ephesians 1:17

Lord, we spend our lifetimes acquiring knowledge, learning through experience and becoming mature in judgement and wisdom in our senior years.  The question is: is our priority wisdom of the world or the wisdom of God? The wisdom of the world is good because it helps us in our careers, allows us to accumulate possessions, wealth and live in our communities. The wisdom of God helps us live a grace-filled life and guides us to heaven. Lord, I think worldly wisdom is a good that can please you as long as it doesn’t become an obstacle to my relationship with you or my neighbor. Lord, my prayer today is for the spirit of your wisdom to bring my mind and heart in union with yours. When I fail to understand your ways help me to trust in your plan. When I can’t see your presence help me to believe you are really here at my side. May this day, in ways known only to you, bring me closer to your heart. That’s all the wisdom I really need.  St. Teresa of Jesus pray for me.  Amen.
