“…rich in what matters to God.” Lk. 12:21
Lord, you make the point today that stockpiling wealth in material goods is not what matters to you. You don’t care as much about our bank accounts as you do about our faith accounts. Abraham was rich in faith and he followed your will to the “T”. When you look on us in love you don’t see what we keep but what we give. Lord, you have blessed me with so much. You know what I need to live. Everything I have is on loan from you. I am asked to be a good steward of it all. I’m sure this stewardship goes beyond money and material goods. You want me to share my faith, my time and my talents. Make me aware of the spiritual and material poverty around me. Show me the person today that you have placed in my path that is in need. Bless me with the courage to stack my priorities so I can be rich in what matters to you. I pray for the grace of a generous spirit and the peace to know that the more I give, the more I receive. Amen
