Acts 20:28-38

Psalm 68

John 17:11b-19

“They do not belong to the world …” John 17:16

Lord, your resurrection shows that you do not belong to this world either. Your words remind us that we belong to the Father. We are his precious and glorious children. We have been raised to a new life and live for Him. That means we must be vigilant that the forces of this world and the lure of the flesh, don’t pull us away from the new life you won for us. At the price of your death on the cross you have ransomed us from the darkness of human existence and brought us into your marvelous light. Lord, today I will live a redeemed life. I belong to God while I walk through the valley on my way to the mountain top. I lack nothing to claim my inheritance as a child of the light. Thank you, Lord, for rescuing me. Consecrate me in your truth of the Good News of your Gospel message for all of us. Show me how to live as a citizen of heaven and alive in your joy. Show forth, O God, your power.  St. Justin pray for us.  Amen
