Acts 8:1-8
Psalm 66
John 6:35-40
“This is the will of my Father that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.” John 6:40
Lord, it’s not rocket science. Your Father’s desire is clear—we are intended for eternal life with him. These words of yours today lay out the promise that faith in you will result in resurrection to eternal life. While this truth is plain and simple, belief involves personal transformation, and the road can be a rough one. In Baptism we are reborn to a life in God. We live for him rather than for ourselves. We look at the joys and sorrows in life from a faith perspective. We realize that seeking first the kingdom is our number one priority. In other words, we work for what is above rather than what is below. Our goals are rejecting sin, serving others, embracing the values of peace and harmony with others. And staying faithful to the end are all signs of faith. Let me not be concerned only with myself but to share my faith with others who need to hear your Good News. Lord, while it’s simple it’s a challenge and difficult at times. Shower your grace upon me today so that my faith will guide me to live like I’ve been saved. Amen.
