October 28, 2021 Thursday of the 30th Week in Ordinary Time-B ST. SIMON AND JUDE, APOSTLES
Ephesians 2:19-22
Psalm 19
Luke 6:12-16
…he called his disciples to himself and from them he chose twelve… Luke 6:13
Lord, how marvelous is your plan to include weak, sinful men and women in building your kingdom. You use ordinary, flawed, untrained folks to do your critical work in this world. This small, motley crew of 12 followers changed the world forever. You are still calling, choosing, and empowering just plain folks to continue to grow your kingdom, to spread your good news and to suffer and die for you. Lord, what have you called me to? What have I been chosen for? I want to do my best for you but sometimes I feel my ability and strength fall short of what’s needed for the tasks laid out for me. Lord, I place my life and my service in your hands to form me and strengthen me to work for you. May your Spirit today guide and inspire me in confidence. With your grace, I won’t let you down. St. Simon and St. Jude pray for us. Amen.
