Psalm 119
Luke 12:54-59
May your kindness comfort me… Ps. 119:76
Lord, this morning I am being serenaded by the melody of a mockingbird outside my window. What a beautiful and diverse sound of nature. The bird song pleases and comforts me. It is restful and delightfully peaceful. Lord, speak to me today of your love. As I paid nothing for the bird song, I did nothing to deserve your unconditional love. I’ll never, in this life, fully appreciate the extent of how you value and love me. Lord, I am confident that you always will shower your kindness upon me even when I sin or forsake you. As the air I breathe surrounds me so is your love always there to comfort me. Teach me to love as you do, Lord. Change my fickle heart to be like yours. Thank you for the comfort of the mockingbird’s song. Help me to notice and value the small signs of your favor that are all around me. Amen.
