Mark 4:35-41

“Teacher do you not care that we are perishing?”  Mk 4:38

“Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?” Mk. 4:41

Lord, on the day of that great storm on the sea were you testing your followers’ faith? To them you seemed not to care about their harrowing situation. Were you more bothered by their lack of faith in your power or in their doubting of your concern for them?  Maybe I have asked this same question during storms in my life. There is so much that I can’t control or avoid. You are greater than any disease, accident or storm. Lord, please grow my faith in your power and my experience of your love. When appearances seem that you are uncaring about the troubles of my life anchor my heart to a solid rock of faith in you. I do not face the turmoil alone. Lord, I believe you are my protector and are always aware of my needs. You do for me what I am unable to do for myself. Guide me to a safe harbor where your healing grace and peace is abundant. Do not let the winds of fear or the waves of worry overwhelm me. Tell them all to be quiet and still. I am confident in your message of hope and peace.  Amen
