Matthew 6:7-15
“…thy kingdom come…” Matthew 6:10
Lord, I cannot do my part in building your kingdom in this world unless it is built in me first. Before I can be of any use in transforming others I must be transformed first. It’s a lifelong process and I am far from a finished product. But one day at a time I can grow in faith in you. I can be nourished by the daily bread you provide for me: spiritual bread that I find in your word. I can forgive one person, one insult. I can give of myself rather than give to myself. I can be more humble and rely on you for everything. Help me to reject anything that distracts me from you. Lord, I want your way to rule my life. I want to live forever in your kingdom. I know that I am too often selfish in that I’d rather do things my way. But like building a giant cathedral the builders have to stick to the plan and not go it alone. Thank you, Lord, for being patient with me as your kingdom is build-up in me one brick at a time. You are the master builder. Amen
