STEM in 1st Grade with Mrs. Altman Today we wrapped up our story Building a House by doing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activity where teams had to build a jelly bean tower. Each team had to build a tower using only jelly beans and toothpicks. They had a set amount of time to build and then they measured their towers. The teams discussed having to build a base to support their tower and measures that would allow their towers to be supported as they got taller. After recording the results, all team members got to eat a jelly bean of course! Our wonderful elementary choir sang for all of our guests including the school students, teachers and staff. Check out our 4th and Kindergarten students enjoying the new Shadeport on Thursday!
