Everyone walked away because they realized that they were not sinless. Christ asks us not to judge others because we also have our own issues and problems that cause us to sin. The world teaches that it is okay to look down on other people, but our faith tells us that we should not judge and condemn others because none of us are without sin. We are all in need of forgiveness. That is why the Sacrament of Reconciliation is important for the salvation of our souls. Gospel according to John JN 8:1-11 Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. But early in the morning he arrived again in the temple area, and all the people started coming to him, and he sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery and made her stand in the middle. They said to him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” They said this to test him, so that they could have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger. But when they continued asking him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he bent down and wrote on the ground. And in response, they went away one by one, beginning with the elders. So he was left alone with the woman before him. Then Jesus straightened up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She replied, “No one, sir.” Then Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin any more.” Congratulations, St. Mary School! St. Mary Catholic School had a successful and informative visit on Apr. 4 and 5 with our FCC accreditation team that consisted of a Principal from the Diocese of Jacksonville, one of our own Principals from the Diocese of Orlando, and the Director of Curriculum Development for the Archdiocese of Miami. The team helped us determine our school strengths and our areas for improvement. We are grateful for the input of this team and are proud that we passed our FCC accreditation. Congratulations to our faculty and staff! St. Mary School will have an Open House on Tuesday, April 9 from 9am-2pm. Families are welcome to visit the school and tour the classrooms, meet the teachers, and receive an information packet. Any new family who is referred by a current school family and registers for 19-20 will help the current family earn a $100 credit toward their registration fee for next year. CRS Rice Bowls for Lent All students received a Rice Bowl to fill with loose change during the Lenten season to help those in need. One of our school parents, Jen Reneau shares the importance of the Rice Bowls in her FUN FAITH FRIDAY reflection for the week. – Did you know… the rice bowls that our children receive every Lent are from C.R.S. or Catholic Relief Services? 💜 94 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to folks in serious need (that is an astronomically high percentage for organizations such as this)! 💜 C.R.S. employs 7,000 people worldwide, too. 💜 25% of all money donated will remain in our Diocese and in our country! 💜 Our children have been given a beautiful opportunity in C.R.S. to share their gifts with so many others locally, nationally, and worldwide. May we all be generous with our gifts. 😊 ❤ “Whatsoever you do to the least of My people, that you do unto Me.” – Jesus our copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action) Please return your Rice Bowls to your homeroom teacher by Wed. April 17.
