It is through loving those who do not love us that we can be truly free. This Lent, try to forgive those who do wrong to you. Do not return evil for evil. The world teaches that we need to get revenge on those who wrong us, but Jesus calls us to not follow the ways of the world. Evil influences the ways of the world and brings disharmony, division, and hatred. Evil spreads its errors through malicious gossip that seeks to destroy others. Christ loved all people…even those who nailed him to the Cross. Be at peace. Gospel according to Matthew MT 5:43-48 Jesus said to his disciples: “You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers and sisters only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” CRS Rice Bowls for Lent All students received a Rice Bowl to fill with loose change during the Lenten season to help those in need. One of our school parents, Jen Reneau shares the importance of the Rice Bowls in her FUN FAITH FRIDAY reflection for the week. – Did you know… the rice bowls that our children receive every Lent are from C.R.S. or Catholic Relief Services? 💜 94 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to folks in serious need (that is an astronomically high percentage for organizations such as this)! 💜 C.R.S. employs 7,000 people worldwide, too. 💜 25% of all money donated will remain in our Diocese and in our country! 💜 Our children have been given a beautiful opportunity in C.R.S. to share their gifts with so many others locally, nationally, and worldwide. May we all be generous with our gifts. 😊 ❤ “Whatsoever you do to the least of My people, that you do unto Me.” – Jesus our copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action) Please return your Rice Bowls to your homeroom teacher by Wed. April 17. Thank you for your support of Catholic Relief Services! FCC Accreditation Visit coming for our school!
