The other disciples came in the boat…\u201d > ~ John 21:7-8 > In today\u2019s Gospel, we recall the third time that the apostles saw him as the resurrected Lord. He asked them to drop their nets and bring in their catch. Peter was so excited to recognize Christ that he quickly jumped into the water, and forgot about the fish. The catch that day was extraordinary. Their nets were overflowing\u2014a reminder that their calling was to reach out as \u201cfishers of men\u201d so that all may come to know salvation in Christ. > > Our nets can be filled to overflowing, too\u2014with acts of compassion and gestures of peace and reconciliation. It\u2019s good to remember that Christ is with us even now. We can find him in the suffering poor of developing nations, and in places much closer to home.
