Psalm 45

1 Corinthians 15:20-27

Luke 1:39-56

“…from now on will all ages call me blessed.”  Luke 1:48

Lord, as we grow older we generally become more independent of our earthly mothers.  While we still love and respect them they have a lesser role in our daily lives.  You have given us an eternal mother.  In Mary, we have a Mom we can turn to all of our lives.  We look to her as a model of faith for her “yes” to God’s invitation to bring you into the world.  Despite hardships and poverty, she stayed faithful to her calling.  I believe she was a great mother to you in all ways.  Then on your cross you gave her to us as our spiritual mother.  She is an advocate for us in all our needs.  She continues to point to you as the way, the truth, and the life.  Dear Jesus, I renew today my special relationship with Mary.  Like her, may I never forget all the good things you have done for me.  And may I never forget that I have someone that is so close to you pleading on my behalf for your mercy and forgiveness.  I look forward to when I can join her in my eternal home.  Amen.
