1 John 2:3-11

Psalm 96

Luke 2:22-35

…whoever claims to abide in him ought to walk just as he walked.  1 John 2:6

Lord, many of your disciples wear a bracelet with the letters WWJD. The letters stand for “what would Jesus do.” What would you do, dear Jesus, to shine your light on our violent world? What would you do to heal broken family relationships? What would you do to feed the poor, house the homeless, help a man find work to provide for his family? What would you do, Lord, to bring our sons and daughters back to your church? What would you do, my Savior, to bring peace and harmony to our world? Lord, Simeon said he could now die in peace because he had seen the salvation of Israel in you as a helpless infant. You did just that by doing the will of your Father. Lord, I want to walk with you today. I offer you my small and insignificant prayers, works and sufferings of this day. With your grace I can make a difference in someone’s life today. I can strive to love as you loved, and walk in your light. I ask for the grace to walk with humility and trust like Joseph and Mary accepting the prophesy of Simeon without question.  Amen
