November 25, 2020 Wednesday of the 34th Week in Ordinary Time-A ST CATHERINE OF ALEXANDRIA, VIRGIN AND MARTYR

Revelation 15:1-4

Psalm 98

Luke 21:12-19

You will be hated by all because of my name.  Lk. 21:17

Lord, Catherine lived in a foreign culture that opposed worship of you. She was surrounded by people who did not live in obedience to your law. Despite the pressure to conform to pagan ways she maintained her faith in you. At the risk of her life she would not compromise herself. Lord, your children today are surrounded by a culture that increasingly defies the gospel values of obedience to, reverence of and faithfulness to your word. Your Church is a light in a dark world that proclaims the truth that you are the One God who has sent the Holy Spirit to lead us. I have too often kept silent in the face of a society that wants to separate itself from you.  Help me to be your witness where it is needed. Whether by word or example give me the grace to not compromise with those who want to wipe out faith in you. Lord, it’s so much easier to go with the flow and not make waves. Keep me committed to bearing your fruit in my family, parish and community.  I surrender to your Holy Spirit to lead me. St. Catherine, pray for us.  Amen.
