I will rescue them from every place where they were scattered…Ezek. 34:12

For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.  1 Cor. 15:25

Lord, there is no other king like you. You do not stand aloof. You desire to be near your subjects. You are concerned about all our troubles and anxieties.  Since you became one of us you know intimately what we experience each and every day. You do not leave us hopeless but lead us to places where we can rest and live in peace. Lord, I sometimes chase after things that are not good for me. But you know what is for my good. I want to live in your kingdom forever. I trust in your judgment on how I have treated the “least of my brethren.” Help me to see you in my brothers and sisters especially those who suffer injustice and abuse. May my priorities be in line with yours. I believe my citizenship is in heaven and this life is only a preparation for the next. Lord, open my heart to those who are in need of food, companionship, forgiveness and a tender touch. Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.  Amen.
