“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord…”  Lk. 1:46

“Here are my mother and my brothers…” Mt. 12:49

Lord, I’m sure your Mother Mary was not insulted when you pointed out that your disciples where your family too. They were related to you because they were dedicated to doing the will of God. Not one of all God’s creation did that better than our Mother Mary. She spent 12 years in the temple learning the scriptures and devoted herself to prayer. This prepared her for one day being visited by an angel and chosen to be the mother of the Savior of mankind. Thank you so much for giving us your mother to be our model, and intercessor. This sinless woman suffered right along with you. She fully accepted things that maybe she didn’t understand at the time but knew in her heart what to do. Being your first disciple she showed later followers a single-minded commitment to the will of God. Lord, listen to the prayers of our mother on our behalf. Thank you for accepting us into your family.  Amen.
