Ephesians 2:19-22

Psalm 117

John 20:24-29

…in him you also are being built… Eph. 2:22

“Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”  John 20:29

Lord, who of us can say for sure, had we been in Thomas’ place, that we’d have not had equal or even more doubt? After all, people don’t rise from the dead everyday and appear to us. So maybe we should give Thomas some slack and not label him as “doubting Thomas” forever. I certainly don’t want to be eternally remembered for one of my mistakes. I love how you greeted him: no scolding or rejection but understanding and acceptance. You went to where Thomas was in faith, and led him to deeper faith. Thomas’ faith became personal when he proclaimed, “my Lord and my God.” Thank you for giving me this very human face of how we grow in faith. Lord, help me to see your surprising and wonderful presence in my life today.  Build my awareness of the awesome things you are doing in me and in my family. When I’m slow to “get it” please be patient with me and guide me to see with the eyes of faith like you did for Thomas.  Amen.
