…because of him kings shall stand speechless… Isaiah 52:15

Yet it was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured.  Isaiah 53:7

Almighty Father, I am thankful from the bottom of my heart to you for giving up your precious Son to heal the ruptured relationship between you and your people. All mankind from now to the end of time is granted a pass, a ransom from death because of Jesus’ obedience to your will. This single act changed the destiny of all of us. I can look back on my grievous sins of long ago and be confident that the debt has been paid for them. I am welcomed back to your friendship because of the cross. I can remember times when I paid little attention to this day.  This year Good Friday takes on a very strange and sad look. Our churches are locked; we will not receive Holy Communion or venerate your cross in the liturgy. But I know you understand because it is an act of charity to limit the spread of this deadly virus. I want to offer a Spiritual Communion prayer because I love Jesus so much for rescuing me from the jaws of hell. I pray to you Father in heaven to help us defeat this invisible virus enemy and because you gave your only Son to save me, my family and all mankind from the darkness of hell.  Amen.
